There have been 120 online applications for sheep fencing so far in the current tranche of TAMS II. Of those applications, 103 were made in the Animal Welfare, Safety and Nutrient Storage Scheme, 12 were made in the Young Farmer Capital Investment Scheme, and five in the Organic Scheme.
In the scheme, farmers can apply for both sheep fencing and gateways. Farmers were keen to make applications now because sheep fencing was only made available for applications recently in the current tranche of TAMS which closes at the end of this week, 24 June.
The next tranche of TAMS II will open for applications on 25 June and will not close until the end of September. Applications cannot get approval until the tranche closes and a ranking and checking process is gone through.
