Approximately 160 applications have been received for the €1.5m Weather Related Crop Loss Support Measure, the Department of Agriculture has confirmed to the Irish Farmers Journal.
The scheme has a maximum compensation amount of €10,500 (€300/ha x 35ha), applying to farmers who lost over 50% of their acreage.
A Department spokesperson said: “These applications are currently being examined for completeness and compliance with eligibility requirements, etc.
“Following this process, the applications will be subject to the standard administrative and on the ground verification procedures. Following this, cleared files will be processed for payment.”
