20 jobs at risk as Aurivo announces transfer of butter packing
Aurivo Consumer Foods has announced its intention to transfer its butter packing operations from its facility in County Sligo, putting approximately 20 jobs at risk.
Aurivo’s butter packing operations will be moved to Ornua’s new packing facility in Mitchelstown, from June 2016.
A 30-day consultation programme has commenced with approximately 20 impacted employees.
The Achonry site will continue as a national distribution hub for Aurivo Consumer Foods, while administration, sales and marketing functions will remain in Aurivo’s head office in Finisklin, Sligo. Butter production will continue in Aurivo’s Dairy Ingredients site in Ballaghaderreen.

Aurivo is a key shareholder in Ornua. In a statement from Aurivo the company has said that “options will be explored to ascertain if there is any opportunity to relocate employees to other Aurivo operations. All efforts will be made to assist colleagues find alternative employment, including the provision of external support.”
