Lorna will soon take up the position after leaving Animal Health Australia, where she worked alongside members and stakeholders to identify emerging diseases.

Lorna holds a degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Sydney and her previous positions have included spells at the South Australia state department, working on the national brucellosis and tuberculosis eradication campaign and at the government advisory service.

She has also spent time delivering courses to farmers based on improving farm productivity and decision-making concerning animal health.

Safeguarding the future

Similar to AHI, Animal Health Australia works alongside the government, livestock industries and farmers in order to safeguard the future of livestock industries through maintaining animal health.

AHI extends a warm welcome to Lorna and says it is looking forward to further strengthening the control of Johne’s disease in Ireland.
