Engine
Both the Luxxum and Maxxum are powered by new FPT engines which meet the latest stage IV emission regulations by incorporating Hi-eSCR technology and eliminating the need for EGR. The new engines are claimed to be more fuel efficient as the max power and torque is available at lower engine revs, while AdBlue consumption is said to be also reduced to 8-10% in help increase the engines overall efficiency. The Luxxum is available in 3 models, the 100, 110 and 120 which are fitted with 3.4 litre 4 cylinder FPT engines producing 99, 107, 117 horsepower respectively. The larger Maxxum is powered by the 4.5 litre 4 cylinder and 6.7 litre 6 cylinder FPT engines. The Maxxum is available in 3 series, the Maxxum, Maxxum Multi Controller (MC) and Maxxum CVX, each series has four models with four cylinder engines rated at between 115 and 145 hp, available for all three model variants. In addition, the Maxxum 150 and the Maxxum 150 MC can be equipped with six-cylinder engines and a nominal rating of 145 hp.
Transmission
The Luxxum has an automated 32 X 32 4 stage powershift transmission with powershuttle while the larger Maxxum and the Maxxum MC deliver engine power to the ground, either using a 16x16 (17x16) four-range Semi-Powershift or a 32x32 transmission with crawler ratio. The Maxxum CVX is supplied with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), automatic productivity management and ECO Drive.
Comfort
The Luxxum benefits from both front and cab suspension to help increase operator comfort while inside the cab there is now a new multicontroller which incorporates transmission controls, rear lift and spool vales, these controls are cleverly colour coded to help users get the most out of the machine. Visibility is also increased to help with loader work by a one piece windscreen and high view roof. The Maxxum also benefits from a new one piece windscreen and high view roof, new air conditioning panel, optional 16 LED lights producing 2000 lumen each which offer 360 degree visibility. Outside the Maxxum is treated to new front suspension to aid the cab suspension and make the operator more comfortable, there are also 3 different seat comfort options to choose from to even further increase comfort. Both tractors have new styling on the bonnet and cab to reinforce their new benefits and designs. Loader operation is now aided with a wider bracket system which increases visibility for the operator when feeding etc.
Technology
Both the Luxxum and Maxxum can now be fitted ISOBUS Class II or Class III on the Maxxum CVX ex factory. The Maxxum can also be equipped with the HMC II headland management system ex factory while the Maxxum MC and CVX are now pre equipped for AFS AccuGuide and are fitted with an AFS Pro 700 monitor.
The Luxxum and Maxxum are expected to be officially released at the SIMA Show in Paris early next year with the first tractors landing in Ireland in early 2017.
