A handy few Angus and Hereford crosses sold for anywhere from €1.90/kg up to €2.10/kg at the sale in Skibbereen on Friday. Continental bullocks sold well but were scarce enough in a sale dominated by Herefords this week.

Two Hereford, 422kg – €800, €1.90/kg.

One Angus 400kg – €770, €1.93/kg.

Three Hereford 358kg – €700, €1.1.96/kg.

One Hereford 555kg – €1,110, €2/kg.

One Limousin 530kg – €1,180, €2.23/kg.

Three Limousin 472kg – €1,045, €2.21/kg.

Two Charolais 427kg – €915, €2.14/kg.

Two Charolais 400kg – €850, €2.13/kg.

Weanling bulls

There were 220 weanlings on sale between bulls and heifers with no real change in trade.

One Limousin, 390kg – €910, €2.33/kg.

Three Angus 330kg – €690, €2.09/kg.

Two Charolais 302kg – €740,€2.45/kg.

One Charolais 350kg – €920, €2.63/kg.

Four Charolais 395kg – €880,€2.23/kg.

Weanling heifers

Weanling heifers sold from €270 up to €450 over the €/kg.

One Charolais 280kg – €690, €2.46/kg.

One Charolais 290kg – €740, €2.55/kg.

One Charolais 315kg – €740, €2.35/kg.

Cows

There were 85 cows on offer with a good mix of well fleshed and parlour cows. Prices ranged from €190 under up to €490 over the €/kg. Sample prices:

One Limousin 675kg – €1,110, €1.64/kg.
