According to Farmhand marketing director Stephen Scrivener, the company will play a key role at Combines4Charity Great Grass event, which takes place on 6 May..
“Recognising that harvesters participating in the world-record challenge will need a well-prepared swath, Krone will be doing all the mowing, tedding and raking of the 120-acre field, the day before the event,” Scrivener said.
Remembered for its 2012 fundraising event in Duleek, when more than 200 working combines were amassed in one field, Combines4Charity will be going all-out to exceed all previous charity fundraising efforts.
Charities set to benefit from this year’s FBD-sponsored undertaking include Gary Kelly Cancer Support Centre in Drogheda, children’s charity Barnardos and the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire, where many of those injured in farm accidents are treated.
Target
“We are delighted we can help out for an event that is so worthwhile and which promises to be a great day out. In lending our further support to the event, we will be motivating our entire dealer network and, through them, our many customers across the country in the hopeful expectation that attendance will be increased and the target of attracting 100 plus harvesters, each generating €500 or more for good causes, will be attained,” Scrivener said.
