A little shiver went down my spine when I read about the latest product from Diageo. Baileys Almonde is made using almond milk rather than the traditional cow’s milk. The new product is gluten-free and suitable for vegans.

Gluten-free and vegan consumers appear to be the market du jour, with Ben & Jerry’s also introducing a dairy-free ice cream made from almond milk. There is a clear opportunity here for Ireland’s many almond farmers.
