Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) has increased its base price by 2c/l including VAT for manufacturing milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

Glanbia will pay its member suppliers 24.7c/l excluding VAT for September manufacturing milk supplies. This price is inclusive of a 1c/l Glanbia co-op support payment to its members.

Separately, the board of Lakeland has also increased its base price by 1c/l bringing its price to 24.7c/l excluding VAT also.

History

Lakeland has increased its milk for each of the past three months as dairy markets have continued to show more life.

The move represents a 5c/l gain for Glanbia suppliers over the last three months.

In July the board of GII increased its price by 1c/l, in August it rose again by 2c/l and now the September price has risen a further 2c/l.
