GII said on Monday that it was increasing its January base price by 1c/l to 29.3c/l excluding VAT at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein.

Glanbia Chairman Henry Corbally said that there remains significant uncertainty in the global dairy market outlook. “The Board will continue to monitor markets on a monthly basis,” he said in a statement.

Lakeland

Lakeland has also increased by 1c/l for milk supplied in January. This brings Lakeland's January price to 29.7c/l (ex VAT).

Lakeland increased its January price by 0.5p/l in Northern Ireland, bringing it to 25p/l. Lakeland's NI price for December was 27.5p/l but this includes a winter bonus of 3p/l.

Ornua

Ornua's purchase price index (PPI) of exported Irish dairy commodities reached its highest point since September 2014 last week.

Other co-ops are due to set their January milk price in the coming days.
