Farmers in GLAS I and II can begin topping fields that are in the Low Input Permanent Pasture Action under the scheme from Saturday 1 July.
The Department brought forward the date from 15 July. Farmers in GLAS cannot top fields between 15 March and 1 July, bringing GLAS I and II farmers in line with those in GLAS III. GLAS farmers with a traditional hay meadow can start mowing from 1 July.
The meadow cannot be mowed from 15 April and 1 July annually under the GLAS contract.
