Michael and Grainne Farrell, Kilcleagh, Castledaly, Co Westmeath, provided the overall sale topper with their 20-month-old bull, Castledalypoll 1 Micheal. This senior bull won his class and also clinched the Reserve Championship in the presale show. He was sold for the day’s top price of €4,700. He is sired by the homebred stock bull Castledaly Jeff and was sold to a commercial suckler farmer from Co Kilkenny.

JJ Farrell, Trillick-A-Temple, Co Longford, had a tremendous day at Tullamore, selling three bulls for a total of €12,000. Trillick Daniel, a 20-month-old son of Steil Gerard, sold for €4,400, while Trillick Lawman and Trillick Admiral 2, both sired by Free Town Hotspur, sold for €3,900 and €3,700 respectively.

Sam and Nigel Heatrick, Annareagh, Glaslough, Co Monaghan, sold Glaslough Pacesetter, born in October 2014, for €3,800. This bull is sired by homebred stock sire Glaslough Karl and was the Supreme Champion in the presale show under judge Tony Bradstock, Tarrington, Hereford, UK.

Eamon and John McKiernan, Newtown, Monasterboice, Co Louth, sold Knockmountagh Joker 2 and Knockmountagh Dazzler for €3,800 each. Both bulls were five stars ICBF terminal index and both bulls were prize winners in the presale show.

Pagraig McGrath, Cloonshannagh, Elphin, Co Roscommon, sold Kye Manhattan 688 for €3,700. This bull is sired by the UK-bred stock bull Free Town Hotspur and was a first prize winner in the presale show.

Other principal prices included David Larkin, Kilcormac, Birr, Co Offaly, who sold Cill Cormaic Moses for €3,500 and Willie Kennedy, Coolatubber, Ballyforan, Co Roscommon, who sold Feevaghmore Invader for €3,100.
