The former food policy adviser in the US government will address this year’s Agricultural Science Association (ASA) annual conference.
Jack A Bobo, who served as the food policy and biotechnology adviser during Hillary Clinton’s terms as US secretary of state, will deliver the keynote address at the conference this Friday. Bobo currently serves as senior vice-president and chief communications officer at Intrexon, a global biology company.
Bobo will give an address on “how to build trust and save the planet”.
Other speakers include Dr Robert Johansson, chief economist with the US Department of Agriculture; Bill Callanan, chief inspector with the Irish Department of Agriculture; Rhys Williams, who runs a 2,000-cow dairy herd in Wales; and Phelim O’Neill, markets specialist with the Irish Farmers Journal.
The conference takes place this Friday from 9am in the Lyrath Hotel, Co Kilkenny.
