Weather forecast
It will be dry in most areas at first today, according to Met Éireann, with bright spells especially in the east. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will develop gradually from the west, becoming persistent in some areas, especially in the northwest later. Overall amounts will be relatively small in most parts, with some dry intervals. Maximum temperatures of 14°C to 17°C.
Tonight will be mainly dry in the eastern half of the country, with clear spells developing, but scattered showers will occur also, mostly in the west. Minimum temperatures of 8°C to 11°C.
Live exports of cattle for the first half of 2016 are down almost 25% on 2015 levels.
The European Commission will roll out a series of voluntary measures to control European milk supply at a meeting on 18 July.
And with the intervention ceiling for SMP having been raised again this week, we ask how does this and private storage aid, the other key EU market support measure, actually work?
In this week's podcast we hear different reactions to Brexit, discuss the EU Commission's decision to extend glyphosate authorisation for 18 months and get a flavour of the Irish Country Music Awards.
Finally, the deadline for registration of farmer participants in knowledge transfer groups has been extended until 14 July.
