Kerry decided on Monday to drop its milk price for July to 26.01c/l, including VAT, at 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat.

This is 2c/l lower than in June - a more severe cut than those decided by Lakeland and Glanbia last week.

Lakeland cut its price by 1c/l to 27c/l last Thursday.

Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) reduced its manufacturing milk price for July by 1c/l to 25c/l on Friday, but Glanbia Co-op decided to support the price paid to its members by 1.5c/l, bringing their base price to 26.5c/l.

The cuts follow continuing falls in the price of dairy commodities on international markets.
