Breens Farm Machinery become Doosan Portable Power Products main dealer
Breens Farm Machinery based in Cashel, Co Tipperary, and Ennis, Co Clare, has just announced that it is now the main dealer in the Republic of Ireland for the Doosan Portable Power Products range.
The Doosan Portable Power Products range includes generators from 20KVA up to 500KVA, compressors from 70CFM up to 1600CFM as well as both mobile tower lights and pneumatic tools.
Breens showcased a sample of the range at this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Tullamore and have reported receiving some very positive feedback, particularly on the compressor range which was formally sold as Ingersoll Rand before Doosan Portable Power bought that franchise in 2007.
The Ingersoll Rand brand had an incredibly strong name in the Irish market, with loyal customers happy to hear that Doosan Portable Power Compressors continue to carry a five-year or 10,000-hour warranty. Speaking to sales specialist Donal Coman at the Ploughing, he said: “We are delighted with the feedback we have got over the three days and are happy to report that deals were done at the show, I am excited about this new franchise which helps to expand our plant offering to our customers and also complements our Takeuchi excavator range quite well.”
For further info on any of the Doosan Portable Power range, contact Conor Breen or Donal Coman on 062-61356 or 087-296 0444.

FJS Plant take on Chinese machinery giant LiuGong
FJS Plant was established in 1993 by Fintan Smyth in Donadea, Co Kildare, about 25 miles from Dublin city centre, and currently employs 14 staff across sales, service, repair, parts, marketing and administration. It is a main distributor for Kubota construction equipment, FDC final drives, Robi and Furukawa rock breakers and demolition equipment, and also specialises in Komatsu machinery. To help expand its product range, FJS has just announced that it is now the main importer in Ireland for the LiuGong range of machinery.
Although Liu Gong is a new name to the Irish market, it is the 20th largest construction equipment manufacturer in the world and also the world’s largest manufacturer of loading shovels, with sales revenues of $2bn from global sales of 43,000 machines annually. LiuGong was founded in 1958 by the Chinese state and today has a total of 24 manufacturing facilities worldwide and employs more than 12,000 people. Its product range includes wheel loaders, bulldozers, skid steers, forklifts, graders, excavators, rollers, truck-mounted and crawler cranes, pavers, drilling machines, mining dump trucks, concrete equipment, and cold planers.
Initially, FJS will be selling the complete excavator range for the whole of Ireland from 8t up to 50t with the wheeled loader range as well as Dressta bulldozers, which is a subsidiary of LiuGong, to follow in early 2017. All LiuGong machines come standard with a two-year or 3,000 hour warranty which customers can also tailor to include a service contract if required.
Speaking about the decision to take on the franchise, Frank Smyth, head of sales, said: “For the past couple of years we have been looking around for a franchise to help us grow our business and that we could confidently stand behind in both sales and service, LiuGong ticks all those boxes and after several meetings with company executives over the past few months we finally signed the agreement in September”. Although LiuGong is not a common sight around Ireland, there are more than 600 machines currently working in the UK. Couple this fact along with their use of quality components such as Cummins and Kawasaki, and it may well be that LiuGong will be as popular here in the future.
