There have been a few queries from farmers trading empty ewes post scanning, as to whether ewes can be traded with one tag from the EID tag set. Under NCIS rules, ewes born after 1 January 2011 must possess two tags when being moved off-farm.
The two options to replace tags are ordering a corresponding tag and inserting it on the animal or applying a new EID tag set and correlating the tag change in your flock register.
