Minister of State with responsibility for Forestry Andrew Doyle launched a pilot knowledge transfer (KT) group at the AGM of the Limerick and Tipperary Woodland Owners group in Hollyford, Co Tipperary, on Wednesday. The experiment will mirror existing KT groups. It aims to improve forest management and awareness of forest value, especially biomass, among participating forest owners. Three existing forestry groups in counties Limerick, Tipperary, Clare and Donegal are expected to enrol 300 forest owners in 15 KT groups. This will act as a feasibility study for a wider forestry KT scheme.
