Prices for good-quality lots ranged from 190p to 224p/kg for a 520kg Charolais animal. Mid-weight bullocks sold from 205p to a top price of 256p/kg for a 444kg Charolais animal.
Trade for heifers was solid, with good-quality forward lots selling from 195p to 210p/kg for a 570kg Charolais animal. Mid-weight heifers sold from 190p to 218p/kg for a 490kg animal.
Calf prices are holding strong. Reared calves peaked at £585 for a Limousin bull, with another Limousin bull making £520. Limousin heifer calves sold to £495.
Younger calves sold to £400 for a Charolais bull, with Angus bull calves selling to £355. Angus heifers sold to £335, while Belgian Blue heifers sold to £290. Friesian bulls sold at £140 to £150 for the best calves.
