Heavy rainfall over the last week has made grazing even more difficult.
There are a few drier days forecast but it will take longer than this in many areas to improve ground conditions.
Grazing out paddocks at present is challenging and forcing animals to graze tight should be avoided where it will impact on animal performance or significantly damage the sward.
Poor utilisation and a low dry matter content in grass is also significantly affecting the feeding value of grass. 
As such, finishing lambs may need to receive higher concentrate supplementation (rising from 0.5kg to 0.8kg or higher) to hit performance targets, while in the most challenging of cases with waterlogged and saturated soils, performance will be improved by finishing lambs indoors.
Where offering high feeding levels, be careful to split feeds and build gradually to avoid digestive upsets.
Breeding ewes should be prioritised for grass during the breeding season and for the first few weeks of pregnancy.
