Harvesting Christmas trees in Co Wexford
Dawn Ramsden, Ricky Meyer and Jamie Tyrrell netting Christmas trees for export for the Emerald Group. The Emerald Group was founded in January 1989 and now manages over 750 acres of Christmas tree plantations in Ireland, with over 1.5 million trees planted. It specialises in Noble Fir and Nordmann. Emerald exports its trees to garden centres across Ireland and Europe. \ Philip Doyle

Paudie Brennan from Jenkinstown, Co Kilkenny, moving the fence for his bullock weanlings in a crop of fodder rape. This is the first time he has planted such a crop. In order to ensure Paudie doesn’t run out of fodder this year, he has just bought in some alfalfa from Glanbia. \ Philip Doyle
