The number of empty BVD tissue tags sent by farmers to testing labs in 2018 was 30,769. This is the highest since testing for BVD started in 2013. The number of empties declined steadily between 2013 and was at its lowest of 13,942 in 2016. The number of empties then increased in 2016 and 2017.
