A bean price of €220/t is on offer from Quinns of Baltinglass, at 22% moisture, a tillage conference chaired by Irish Farmers Journal tillage editor Andy Doyle heard on Thursday night.
Growers looking to avail of the offer will need to be quick though as the offer ends on Friday night.

Variety
One new spring bean variety is on the recommended list for 2019 – Lynx. This comes after eight varieties were tested in the trials in 2018, including Mallory and Victus.
In total, growers have three varieties to choose from this year: Lynx, Boxer and Fanfare, while Fuego has been dropped from the list.
