A number of items were stolen, and fuel was taken from six vehicles in Clonfert, Co Galway overnight between Monday and Tuesday last week, a Garda spokesperson has told the Irish Farmers Journal.

According to local radio station Galway Bay FM, the diesel was taken from tractors belonging to Bord na Móna.

Tractor and post driver

Separately, gardaí are investigating the theft of a tractor which occurred at the weekend at Lorrha, Nenagh, Co Tipperary. According to owner Michael Dolan, the red Case JX95 tractor has a red Vector post driver on the back.

"We had been using it in a field just outside Lorrha village on Saturday and left it there after we were done, planning to come back on Monday to finish off the job," Michael told the Irish Farmers Journal. "We believe it was taken that night around 12.30am."

The tractor's registration is 06-TN-3078 and anyone with information is invited to contact Lorrha garda station on 090 974-7002.
