Paddy O’Brien’s silver jubilee
Country gentleman Paddy O’Brien is celebrating the silver jubilee of his annual get-togethers in the southeast. The first weekend was held in Lawlor’s Hotel in Dungarvan last weekend while the second takes place at Clayton Whites Hotel in Wexford town on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1, 2 and 3 March.
Paddy and his band will be joined for the celebrations in Wexford by Jimmy Buckley, Robert Mizzell, Barry Kirwan, Susan McCann, Mick Flavin, John Hogan, Shaun Loughrey, and Tony, Theresa and the Stars.
The Friday and Saturday nights see dancing from 9.30pm to 1am with earlier dancing on Sunday night from 8.30pm to 12am. You can also dance on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 3-5pm.
Admission to the nightly dances is €20 and the afternoon is €10. Tickets will be available at the door for all dances. There is a special weekend package in place for those who might wish to avail of it as well as one and two night packages.

Brian salutes St Patrick’s Day
Meath man Brian Mullen is first out of the blocks this season with a song in salute of St Patrick’s Day.
The song, named after the patron saint, was written by his friend Nigel Connell, who also hails from Athboy.
Brian’s musical affinities are in the Irish and American country genres and he previously released a cover of The River by Garth Brooks in 2016 and Liza Jane by Vince Gill in 2017.
The writer, Nigel Connell, is currently on tour with Simon Casey and Johnny Brady and The Sheerin Family Band and their Eagles Tribute Show.
