Update Success !
The most important thing in life...
Are friends, having a social circle outside of work and having people to talk to. Talking is really important and if you have a close group of friends, it makes it so much easier.
What TV series are you watching at the moment?
Derry Girls, absolutely hilarious. I missed the finale of season two so have to catch up.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
An auctioneer, it could happen yet!
What is your favourite farming memory?
Having time with my family on the farm, slagging each other and just having the craic.
What is your favourite quote?
Bite off more than you can chew and then chew like hell.
What do you enjoy about your role with Dunbia?
That it is really fast paced, you never have time to get bored and I get to travel a lot. I love the people I work with and no two days are the same.
Who inspires you?
My mum because she put her life on hold to get us through school and then she went back to university, got her degree and now she is incredibly successful in a really short space of time. She loves what she does and she is just a really good human being.
Favourite country you have ever visited?
New Zealand, I love the attitude of the people. They are so welcoming and when they give people their time, they really give people their time.
Favourite place to go for a night out?
Belfast; the Cathedral quarter, Thirsty Goat, Dirty Onion or the Plough in Hillsborough, it’s my local. I actually ran there the other night. I’m training for either a half marathon or a 10k, haven’t decided yet, but we’re running it for Yellow Wellies. I decided to run to the pub as there would be a good reward at the end.
First concert?
Probably something like Hugo Duncan.
Best piece of advice you have ever been given?
Very stereotypical but do what you enjoy. Whenever you do something you enjoy, you’re going to do so much better because you have a passion for it and you’re interested. There is no point in being stuck somewhere you don’t want to be, there are so many opportunities in all industries so do something you love.
Belgian Blue or Charolais?
Charolais.
If you had to advise people to follow one person on Twitter, who would it be?
Jacob Anthony, he is one of our lamb producers; he lives in Wales. He’s really active on Twitter, you can always see what he’s up too. He’s inspiring, encouraging and genuine about facing change and difficulties, and about young people in the industry.
If you won the lotto what would be the first thing you would do?
Update my wardrobe with every designer brand you can have, buy a massive farm and a Grand Design’s house.
