Farmers are fed up of hearing empty promises from politicians about what they will do on Brexit, according to IFA president Joe Healy.
Healy said Brexit had already happened for beef farmers and they were being hammered financially as a result.
He said commitments from the EU Commission and the Government to support farmers had so far amounted to nothing.
The IFA plans to protest at a cabinet meeting in Cork on Wednesday 2 May.
It will demand a retrospective aid package to cover what it estimates to be losses of €101m caused by Brexit-related beef price cuts.
Hung out to dry
An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed and all other Government ministers will be in attendance at the meeting.
The IFA said it intends to send them “a strong message that beef farmers cannot be hung out to dry on Brexit”.
Healy said: “The wait and see approach from Minister Creed is worn out with farmers.
"They can’t wait any longer and time is also running out for the Government.”
A set of proposals on losses in the beef sector has been submitted to both European Commissioner for Agriculture Phil Hogan and Minister Creed.
The Minister has been called on by the IFA to make the beef issue his priority.
