O’Brien, who is a member of the Beef Plan Movement’s Tipperary committee, has been protesting at the plant since Monday.
Welfare
He said that some cattle were allowed into the factory on Wednesday on welfare grounds, having been waiting to enter the plant for a while.
“We wouldn’t put cattle in a situation that would be a welfare problem,” O’Brien said.
He added that the protesters believed the cattle were from feedlots owned by ABP owner Larry Goodman.
