Monday will start off with sunny spells but heavy showers are also forecast, most of which are to occur in the afternoon. Temperatures will range from 18°C to 21°C in southwest breezes.

The showers will die out on Monday night, with long clear spells developing in light winds and temperatures of 11°C or 12°C.

Tuesday

Met Éireann has forecast that showers will return through Tuesday, with similar temperatures of 18°C to 22°C in light southerly winds. The showers will die out on Tuesday night again and the winds will gradually become southwesterly.

Wednesday

On Wednesday the area of low pressure that has been steering these showers over the country will finally shift further to the east and the winds will become westerly in direction, according to Met Éireann.

Showers and sunny spells are forecast, with daytime highs of 18°C to 22°C and nighttime lows of 11°C or 12°C.

The outlook is for this same unsettled weather, with showers building in the afternoon and dying at night, to continue through the week.

Soil moisture deficits

Soil moisture deficits are currently between 30mm and 50mm over much of Leinster and Munster but are somewhat lower elsewhere, Met Éireann has said.

Soil moisture deficits are likely to decrease early this week but some restriction to growth will continue over the southeast due to less than normal rainfall expected there.
