Once, Twice, Three Times an Aisling

by Emer McLysaght and Sarah Breen

When the first installment was released, few could have predicted the sheer force by which the Complete Aisling books would take the Irish fiction world. Both the first and second parts of the series, Oh My God What a Complete Aisling and The Importance of Being Aisling, are bestsellers.

The third book, Once, Twice, Three Times an Aisling, is set for release on 12 September and fans are awaiting its arrival with bated breath.

Now Aisling is turning 30. Her business BallyGoBrunch is booming. Her best friend Majella is expecting the hen of the century and Aisling is in the throes of a fling with the handsome and mannerly blow-in James. Now is a pretty busy time for the series in general, as along with all this, Element Pictures are currently putting plans in place to bring Aisling to the big screen.

The Birthday Party

by Roisin Meaney

Some years ago Roisin Meaney was looking for inspiration for her next novel and decided to pay a visit to Valentia Island, Co Kerry in the hope of getting creative juices flowing.

The trip paid off in spades, as Roisin has just released the fourth book in her Roone series, The Birthday Party. The books are set on the island of Roone, which is loosely based on Valentia.

Although The Birthday Party as a title may have happy connotations, beneath the air of celebration, many of the islanders have their own struggles to contend with.

Heartbroken Imelda is trying to make sense of a mystery stranger who has turned up to stay at her B&B. Tilly returns to the island from the other side of the world to visit her sister and long-distance boyfriend, unaware of the trauma that awaits her.

Available now in paperback. For more information see www.roisinmeaney.com

I Confess

by Alex Barclay

Alex Barclay was once the fashion editor of a magazine, although at the time she was known under a different name. In 2003 when she began writing her first book Darkhouse – released in 2005 – she packed in the role and adopted the penname Alex Barclay. With the new name came a very different type of writing, with her books entering the crime fiction genre. Her novels are known to be suspense filled and intense. I Confess, Alex’s latest book is on shelves 22 August and it promises to be as gripping as her previous work. A group of friends are reunited at a luxury inn in the west of Ireland. When a body is discovered, the group faces a shocking realisation, a killer is among them.
