The British Charolais Cattle Society hosted its Northern Ireland club sale in Dungannon late last week. In such uncertainty, trade can be considered good, with the clearance rate jumping by 8% on the year. Overall, 29 bulls sold to an average price of £3,277, with a clearance rate of 75%.
Leading trade and attracting a bid of 5,800gns was the reserve senior champion Brownhill Owenroe.

Sired by multi-show winner Rumsden Fawkes, he is out of Brownhill Indigo, which goes back to the Highland Show junior champion and 25,000gns Perth supreme champion Goldies Unbeatable.

Bred by Derry breeder Gregory Donnelly, the third-prizewinner in the pre-sale show was secured by Sean McGovern.
