CELEBRATE International Poitín Day at Glendalough Distillery, Co Wicklow, on 18 November. Established in 2015, International Poitín Day was intended to both honour the rebellious souls who kept the spirit of poitín alive during its illegal days and also to promote it as a product that consumers will want to drink. To mark this, Glendalough will host an afternoon dedicated to poitín. There will be an opportunity to meet the head distiller and see your own batch of poitín being made. You will also be able to sample a number of rare poitíns no longer in production. For more information see www.glendaloughdistillery.com.
