The prospect of the next president taking a pay cut was raised at the Meath hustings.

Eamonn Meade from the Nobber branch asked if the president would be willing to take a 15% pay cut, similar to those at RTÉ. The reply from the candidates’ top table was that the IFA finance committee set the president’s wage and, therefore, the president had no say in the matter. Currently, the president receives a salary of €120,000. A 15% cut would reduce this to €102,000.
