Met Éireann has issued a status yellow rainfall warning for seven counties. A spell of heavy rain is likely to lead to some spot flooding and will turn to sleet and snow in places later today according to the forecaster.
The counties affected are Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wicklow, Offaly and Tipperary. The warning will remain in place from 2pm on Wednesday 13 November until 2am on Thursday 14 November.
Top temperatures will range from 4°C to 8°C. Outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will gradually clear southwards on Wednesday night and cold, clear spells will develop, with frost and the risk of icy patches developing before dawn. Lowest temperatures of 0°C to plus 2°C.
