Funding for the Farm Plan Scheme has been doubled to €1m for 2020. The scheme is run by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and aims to develop and support biodiversity measures on farms. “Presently, farmers are involved in NPWS farm plans for coastal dunes, fen habitat, esker grasslands, traditional hay meadows, lesser horseshoe bats and various bird species,” a spokesperson for the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht said.
