Kilkenny County Council has given Glanbia the go-ahead to build a €140m cheese factory in Belview. Planning was approved for the continental cheese factory, which will make Edam and Gouda cheese in partnership with Dutch dairy company, Royal A-ware. The plant, which is located beside the Belview ingredients plant, is expected to be in operation by 2022 and will process 450m litres of milk.
