IFA president Tim Cullinan has called for an immediate assessment of flood damage to determine losses and a financial aid package for farmers.
He said the Government needs to take urgent action given the impact of the recent heavy rains and flooding on farmland.
ICSA rural development chair Tim Farrell said that, in the short term, emergency funding is needed for those affected. “It is clear many farm families will struggle to get back on their feet and local communities will again be tasked with showing resilience in the face of government inaction,” he said.
