Flooding of farmers’ fields and sheds near rivers could worsen over the coming days as further heavy rain is forecast by Met Éireann.

Problems with full slurry tanks on cattle farms will also continue as even in free-draining areas fields are waterlogged. Between Thursday and Wednesday of next week, the west is forecast to get 50mm of rain and the northwest and southwest 45mm each. The midlands and southeast will have 35mm or more. The east and northeast will each get over 20mm.
