A man in his mid-60s has died on a farm in Co Kilkenny following an incident on Friday afternoon.

In a statement, gardaí said the man was fatally injured while he was working on his farm. The incident happened shortly after 3pm and it is understood a combine harvester was involved.

Gardaí in Thomastown are currently at the scene where the man’s body remains at this time.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and investigations are ongoing.

It brings to 13 the number of people killed on farms in the Republic of Ireland this year.
