The board of Nuffield Ireland has taken the decision to postpone its 2020 conference which was due to take place on 6 November, chair Karen Brosnan has announced.
The decision to postpone the event was taken to ensure the safety of delegates and due to the uncertainty around what guidelines will be in place for indoor gatherings in November.
Presentations from the 2019 scholars will be made available virtually in November and they will be invited to give a short presentation in person at next year’s Nuffield conference.
Travel
For current scholars, the coronavirus pandemic has prevented international travel. Nuffield Ireland has set out a framework of virtual learning, networking and local travel for the five Irish scholars.
The 2021 group will work under similar provisions, as the board believes normal foreign travel will not return to normal for an extended time period, with various restrictions in different countries.
Nuffield Ireland is supported by the FBD Trust, The Golden Jubilee Trust, The Agricultural Trust, Irish Farmers Association, Glanbia, Aurivo, Dairygold, MSD Animal Health, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, Kerry Group, Dairymaster and LIC Ireland.
