Dairygold, Lakeland Dairies and Glanbia have this week submitted their respective nominations to Ornua to fill their allocated slots for a non-conflicted director on the new Ornua board.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that Dairygold has nominated Edmund Lynch as its non-conflicted nominee to the new Ornua board. A dairy farmer from Castlemartyr in east Cork, Lynch has been a member of the Dairygold board since 2012 and has been vice chair of the co-op since 2018. However, Lynch has now resigned his position on the Dairygold board to take up the new director role on the Ornua board.

On Wednesday, Glanbia Ireland announced that Diarmuid Lally will be its non-conflicted nominee to the new Ornua board

Meanwhile, Lakeland Dairies has nominated Dr Sean Brady as its non-conflicted nominee to the board. Brady briefly served as interim CEO of LacPatrick Co-op following the departure of Gabriel D’Arcy in 2018 and helped negotiate the merger with Lakeland Dairies last year.

On Wednesday, Glanbia Ireland announced that Diarmuid Lally will be its non-conflicted nominee to the new Ornua board. Lally will step down from the Glanbia board next week but cannot take his place on the new Ornua board for at least six months.

For this interim period, Glanbia has nominated former chair Henry Corbally to sit on the board of Ornua until such time that Lally is eligible to take up his seat.
