Saturday’s sale at Headford Mart in Co Galway has been cancelled.
Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal, mart manager at Headford Mart Jimmy Hannon said the sale was cancelled due to staffing issues.
“Due to internal staffing issues we couldn’t go ahead with today’s sale. We are doing everything we can to resolve the issue,” he said.
In a message to farmers on Friday night, the mart said there would be no sale on Saturday “due to unresolved issues” and the management of Headford Mart apologised to patrons for "any inconvenience caused”.
Hannon said there were “up on 60 pens of cattle” booked in for sale on Saturday.
