The Limousin society is postponing its sale in Roscrea Mart on Monday due to what sources say were “unworkable” conditions imposed by the Department of Agriculture.

Many breeders will be disappointed by the news, especially in light of the fact that other pedigree sales will continue to take place in marts over the coming days.

Arrangement

“We tried to come to an arrangement where the sale could go ahead and we could keep everyone in line with COVID-19 restrictions, but, unfortunately, it couldn't happen,” president of the Irish Limousin Society Michael Gunn told the Irish Farmers Journal.

“It is disappointing, but the best we could do given the circumstances.”

The sale will be postponed to Wednesday 4 November at 7pm and will take place online.
