Three units of the Tipperary Fire and Rescue service attended a blazing fire in an agricultural shed in Tipperary on Sunday night.
It took the crews seven hours to deal with the blaze, which destroyed bales of straw and damaged the shed itself.
The farm is on the outskirts of Ardfinnan and the fire was first noticed by neighbours who called the owner to alert him.
The fire is the third in 10 years on the outskirts of the village, after another shed on the neighbouring farm was set alight on two separate occasions, one again just before Halloween.
A spokesman for An Garda Síochána said it is investigating an incident which occurred at a barn in Ardfinnan, Co Tipperary, at approximately 7pm, Sunday, 25 October.
He said that crime scene officers attended the farm and carried out an examination.
“Enquiries are ongoing,” he told the Irish Farmers Journal.
