United Auctions has decided to defer the February show and sale of bulls at Stirling.
The bull sales had been due to start on 31 January and 1 February and then move on to a second weekend of sales on 14 and 15 February.
The decision was taken following the announcement on Monday that Scotland would enter into a lockdown due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
United Auctions said that following Scottish government guidance, the sales have been postponed to Saturday 20 February to Monday 22 February for Aberdeen Angus, Beef Shorthorn, Lincoln Red, British Blue and Limousin breeds and to Saturday 27 February to Monday 1 March for Simmental, Salers and Charolais bulls.
Go-to sales
The world-famous bull sales attract buyers from all across the UK and Ireland and the February and October bull sales are the go-to sales for the UK’s top pedigree bulls.
Over 600 bulls are already entered for next month’s sales.
The re-organised sales will be livestreamed and online bidding will be available.
The final sale programme will be available nearer to the sale dates.
