Pig, poultry and horticulture farmers support IFA protest
The IFA held talks with Dunnes Stores following protests in Cork and Monaghan. The aim was to highlight the failure of the retail sector to give price increases to suppliers and to address cost increases at farm level. The protest was led by IFA pigs chair Roy Gallie, IFA president Tim Cullinan and IFA poultry chair Nigel Sweetnam. \ Andy Gibson.

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with his counterpart Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri. Minister Almheiri is Minister for Climate Change and the Environment at the United Arab Emirates. The two ministers signed the MoU agreeing to work together in the area of food security.
