The fund, which is valued at €200,000 overall, can provide in the region of up to €25,000 per initiative.

The objective behind the fund is to encourage innovative startups, create jobs and promote growth in the agribusiness industry.

The scheme is open to new companies who are set to achieve significant growth in the first three to four years of business, employ 10 or more staff and reach sales exceeding €1m per year.

Applications are invited from prospective startups in the areas of fabrication, engineering, machine design and manufacturing, life sciences within the agri-sector, farm software, animal health and food companies with export potentials.

Developing new businesses

Speaking at the launch of the new programme, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Mary Mitchell O’Connor, said the Feasibility Fund is a great starting platform for new businesses in the agri-sector. “Competitive Feasibility Funds are all about developing new businesses that will create jobs in every region in Ireland – something the Government is deeply committed to,” she said.

Applications will be open from 23 August until 6 September and entrepreneurs and early-stage startups are all invited to apply.
