In last week’s Focus on Animal Health, we carried an article called ‘‘BVD – where to from here?’’ The article described the challenges and progress of the BVD eradication programme to date. The article also discussed the options for those who have negative herd status (no PI animals found since the start of tissue-testing) and possible vaccination strategies.
The three vaccines available were described and, in the last week, some farmers have asked for clarifications on the vaccines available. Table 1 shows the main points related to the vaccines.
