Nominations open for IFA deputy president and regional chairs
The nominations for deputy president and the four regional chairmen are subject to the IFA Council adopting a rule change on 2 February 2016 to allow these elections go ahead.

Candidates in the first place require a nomination by their own county executive, which must then be endorsed by the signed support of a number of other county chairmen.
For deputy president, the candidate must have the signed support of five and not more than five chairmen of other county executives.
For Munster, South Leinster or Ulster/North Leinster chairman, the candidate must have the signed support of two and not more than two chairmen of other county executives in the region.
For Connacht chairman, the candidate must have signed support of one and not more than one chairman of another county executive in the region.
The IFA says a county chairman can give his signed support to only one candidate for a position, which is perhaps a reference to the confusion caused by Carlow chairman Derek Deane's appeal of his failed presidential bid this week.
Nominations for deputy president and the four regional chairmen which fall short of the full requirement cannot be included in the final list of candidates.

Completed nomination and acceptance forms must be received no later than 5.30pm on Wednesday 3 February 2016.
At the last IFA executive council meeting on 5 January, the council unanimously agreed to proposed rules changes which would ensure a new president is elected by the end of April.
The executive council also agreed to two proposed rule changes which would see a full set of elections take place. The proposed changes will see each remaining member of the executive board step aside and stand for re-election. The rule changes to the constitution proposed at the meeting cannot be ratified for 28 days, which is why the nominations for deputy president and the four regional chairmen are subject to the IFA Council adopting the changes on 2 February 2016.
