Dairygold celebrated a local win in the rebel county last week, claiming the Cork Company of the Year 2017 title.

Accepting the award from Cork Chamber, CEO Jim Woulfe paid tribute to the company’s 2,900 suppliers and 1,200 staff. He noted that the company invested more in milk processing infrastructure in the past five years than in the preceding 30 years.

The co-op’s capital investment in processing infrastructure amounts to €215m.

The processing capacity is needed to handle a 25% increase in milk supplies from farmers in the past two years and a 50% increase in the last six years.
